Avraham Shalom Levi is an exceptional, award-winning storyteller who seamlessly blends a deep understanding of human drama and character with a compelling creative vision across theatre, film, and television. His scripts are consistently celebrated for their nuance, courage, and ability to tackle complex emotional and societal issues.
Levi's most significant achievement in television is the highly acclaimed drama series, Unsilenced, where he served as the Head Writer and Showrunner. The series received high praise, culminating in the prestigious Israeli Television Academy Award for Best Script for a Drama Series, a testament to the power and quality of his narrative leadership.
Extending his work into cinema, Levi has experience both writing and directing, including the feature film Water - Flood, and the short film Rituals. His foundation as a writer began and flourished in the theatre, where his plays have been staged across Israel and internationally. This profound background as a playwright deeply informs his approach to screenwriting, enabling him to craft authentic characters and tightly structured narratives for the screen. Among his notable theatrical works is Zvika the Soldier, a powerful, anti-militaristic one-man show inspired by personal experiences with PTSD, which has been performed successfully in Israel for over a decade.
His catalogue of authored plays also includes his debut, The Shirt, staged by the "Huzpah" Israeli Theatre ensemble he founded in New York, alongside other works such Coffee with Strawberries, Water and Ritalin 11, Marriage Experiments, The Watchmen, and Helmet/Woman, all of which have been staged at major Israeli theatre festivals and venues. Currently, Levi remains a prolific creator, focusing on several high-profile projects that underscore his commitment to diverse and impactful narratives, including the upcoming feature film Farewell Dough (currently in post-production) and the active development of two new television series, positioning him at the forefront of contemporary drama production.
